Filipe 250 - Framed Art
Skirting the edge where the azure sea kisses golden sands, a daring soul carves his legacy at the 2024 San Felipe 250 in Baja Mexico. Decked in a kaleidoscope of hues, his sombrero a halo of tradition against the stark beauty of the desert, he tames his roaring bike across the rugged terrain. Racing against time and challengers alike, he becomes one with the spirit of Baja — a vibrant blur of speed, sand, and unyielding determination.
Images are framed in randomly painted frames in bright colors, printed on archival paper with pigmented inks, sizes range from between 5 x 7 to 8 x 10
My creative process begins with a photograph I've taken, which serves as the initial spark of inspiration. From there, I transition to a hand sketch to flesh out my vision, capturing the essence and dynamics of the scene with pencil and paper. This sketch lays the groundwork for the final artwork, serving as a blueprint for the collaboration that follows. I then partner with AI technology to bring the sketch to life, utilizing its capabilities to add depth through shading and coloring. This fusion of traditional artistry and cutting-edge technology allows for a unique blend of precision and creativity, resulting in artwork that is vibrant, detailed, and full of life.
My work is deeply rooted in my experiences as an ex-professional racer, drawing from a profound love for Baja, the ocean, and the desert. Having spent my entire life living in Baja and the American Southwest desert, my art is a reflection of the landscapes that have shaped me and the adventurous spirit of off-road racing that has defined much of my life. My artwork is not just a representation of these places but an homage to the exhilarating challenge of racing through them, capturing the essence of freedom and the raw beauty of these untamed environments. My journey from the racetrack to the canvas is fueled by a passion for capturing the spirit of adventure and the unbreakable bond between man, machine, and nature.
